The Atelier and apartment for a photographer.
Designed space was created for a photographic studio with an apartement. Area 100 sqm.
Aesthetic of the interior was inspired by minimalistic climate of black and white photography and naval architecture.
The starting point was the comfort of working area for the camera and the space for additional people on the plan. In the studio there are a dressing room with storage room for props and place for make-up. The heavy curtains at the windows regulate an access to daylight.
An open plan room with a high ceiling allows to build the scenography or use the upper lighting.
In the middle of the room were placed furniture like a table and a modular sofa. Thanks to that it is possible to rearrange the space to enlarge the area for working with the side lighting, rebuilding decorations or extending distance needed to take a photo.
In the evening a studio – living room can be changed into a home cinema, the photo background can be used as a screen to display films.
An advantage of the bridges on the mezzanine is the possibility to take aerial view photos , thanks to that the photographer has more freedom in creation.
Openwork bridges, steps and railings correspond with a ship. A translucent edge of a mezzanine and a balustrade give it a lightness and at the same time allows to keep intimacy in a private part of the apartment, where were placed a bedroom and a bathroom.
